Hi, I’m Lydia, and I’m raising money for my baby’s vet and hospital bills. His name is Igor, and a couple of days ago, he started showing signs of illness. I took him to the vet today, and he is very anemic and jaundiced. I am still waiting on blood test results, but I’m taking him to the kitty ER after. It will cost thousands of dollars. As an unemployed college student, this isn’t something I can afford myself, so I need donations to make sure my baby can get the help he needs. Any amount helps.
If there’s an option for edits, I will update this post as I learn more.
Update: The blood work came back, and it’s a lot better than anyone thought. He has inflammation in his system, but it’s looking like it can be treated with medication. I caught it early, so he will likely be okay. I’m going to be leaving this post up just in case he gets worse, but as of right now, the cost is going to be about $500. It’s still very much out of my price range, but it’s much more affordable than anticipated.
The vet is watching him overnight, so I will leave more updates as he gives them.
Update 2: They got him stabilized, and he’s on an IV. The vet wanted to keep him for another day, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to bring him home tomorrow. With the extra day in their care, the cost is going to go up. Any donation is appreciated. Shares are very appreciated too. Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated.
Update 3: The vet still isn’t able to get him to eat, so I’m taking him home for a day to see if he eats something. If he doesn’t, next step is a surgical feeding tube.
Update 4: He’s been home all day, and he’s had ups and downs. He’s extremely lethargic still, and barely has energy to walk. He’s not eating much, and what he is eating, I’m feeding him through a syringe. That being said, he has had some water on his own, and he’s was able to pull himself onto the couch earlier. I will continue to update as things progress.
Update 5: He didn’t make it.
