Please help Bridget and her family

If you don't know Bridget you are missing out. She is a sweet, smart, spunky 8 year old girl who loves to sing, dance, laugh, play Barbies, and hang out with friends and family. She has never been sick.....until now. Last Thursday night, at dinner, Bridget started complaining of stomach pain and then said her legs felt funny. She went to lay in bed and minutes later shouted out for her mom. Bridget said she couldn't feel her legs and when mom checked, Bridget's feet were ghostly white. She was rushed to CCMC by ambulance where she spent 11 hours in the ER undergoing test after test. Sadly, the doctors found that Bridget had dozens of blood clots in her legs, bowels, and kidneys. The clots in her legs however were preventing blood flow causing damage to her leg muscles. She was moved to the PICU and the idea was to move forward with emergency surgery at Hartford Hospital to remove the clots. After several hours, the chief of vascular surgery said he was not comfortable performing the surgery on a child Bridget's age and size. So Bridget was airlifted to Yale New Haven Children's hospital and the team there took her into surgery right away. After 5 long hours, the team was able to remove the clots and restore blood flow but there was significant swelling of the muscles so they decided to perform a fasciotomy on both legs to relieve the pressure. And that brings us to today. The doctors have never seen anything like Bridget's case and so far, there are no answers as to why this happened to her. At this time, the doctors believe that Bridget will be in the hospital for several weeks if not longer. Because of Covid and distance, her mom is unable to return to work.  With no income coming in, they need help. Help to not only pay their everyday bills but the medical debt from this will be crushing and no one knows what Bridget's long term care will look like. If you can help my friends, every donation no matter how small counts. If you can't donate, please share their story. Melissa, Adam, Brenna, and Bridget thank everyone for their support.

Edit- per GoFundMe policy, this campaign's beneficiary is Melissa Piccoli (Bridget's mommy) and ALL proceeds will go towards paying for household bills and Bridget's long term care!
