Hi, my name is Daniel and my best friend's name is Blaze my German Shepherd. Blaze grew up in Vail, Colorado and is living his best life. I've known Blaze since he was only 8 weeks and man have we had our ups and downs together. Blaze is the sweetest, most loving, gentle giant I've ever met. He loves all and is a healing spirit. Let me tell you a few stories about Blaze.

When Blaze was only 4 months old we were attending a spring back to Vail concert and he was on the feasting end of two hungry wolf hybrids. A man from Denver attending the concert was not paying attention and his dogs attacked. He had reconstructive face surgery and to this day has a metal plate in his left eye socket. I think i was more shaken up then he was. He survived like a champ.

For the next 9 years we sailed through life hiking the beautiful mountains of vail Colorado, strolling around the village. Everyone knows him and he brings smiles to everyone's day. He is Vails local dog celebrity. He has traveled quite a bit too. For a year and half we lived in NYC together. Its not every day you see a 100 lb. black as midnight German Shepherd cruising around in NYC, leash less. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. Blaze is 100% voice command. He hasn't had a leash since he was 2 years old! He is the perfect dog. The seas would part in downtown times square for him. What a sight.

Not only has Blaze been a champion in his own right, he has helped me through TWO Broken legs. 11.7.14 and 2.6.16. Blaze has helped and supported me through the hardest times of my life. But this is not my story this is his.
Fast forward to last Wednesday, May 5th, Cinco de Mayo. I guess Blaze had one too many tequila shots(just kidding) at the park. As we were playing fetching. He stood up leapt 5 feet after a ball and winced. He laid down immediately. Being the trooper he is, he did not make another noise. However, I know something was wrong immediately. He never lets me pick him up but for the first time, he let me place him over my shoulders and carry him home. I was hoping it may just be a sprain, however after just returning home from the vet its a full blown ACL tear. He will be undergoing surgery Friday May 14th. Please help us. He is in incredibly health for a GSD with zero gray hair. He is young and vibrant and lives a very active life. Blaze and I are praying for your help and support. Thank you.
