Monica was on her daily 2 mile walk last Saturday and as she was crossing the street, IN the crosswalk, WITH a green light, AND the little walking man was lit, she was struck and RUN OVER by a speeding minivan that ran the light and “didn’t see her”.

She suffered a head injury, lacerations on her spleen, 7 crushed ribs, and her pelvis was fractured in numerous places. She’s gone through several surgeries already and has a few more in her future.

She has a long road of recovery ahead of her. She’ll be going to rehab when she’s released from the hospital where she’ll stay until she’s strong enough to go home where she takes care of her partner Anne of nearly 30 years.

Luckily, they have incredible insurance so medical bills are covered, but while Monica is down, Anne needs a little outside help. Laundry, taking out the trash, vacuuming, etc. Stuff that’s just too hard from her chair. Monica will be out of work for months and the bills will add up. If you can spare a few dollars, it would help these two a lot. They’ve done so much for others, let’s return the favor.
