Beth Ramsey is currently in the hospital recovering from a heart transplant. To say this was completely unexpected is an understatement. After experiencing sudden breathing difficulties, Beth was airlifted to Washington DC and hospitalized with a very rare heart condition; Giant Cell Myocarditis. Her family was informed that without a heart transplant, she would die. After losing her husband, their father Doug, to a sudden heart attack five years ago, this news was understandably heartbreaking and shocking to Beth’s children. Beth was healthy and extremely active up until this happened August 6th. It was shocking all of us that know and love her.

Beth is well known and beloved in our community, having served as an educator in our school system for 20 years. She is not only respected, but extremely loved by students, staff and parents alike - truly anyone that has met her. After two weeks of waiting and heartfelt prayer, we are incredibly grateful that she was matched with a donor August 21, 2022. Now begins her long recovery.

Even with health insurance, the cost of a heart transplant is overwhelming. Beth will have lifelong medication and other medical needs, in addition to her months-long hospital care. At this time, it is unknown what issues she may face. For those that know and love the Ramsey family, you know how much they give to those around them.
