Hi, I’m Pam Cleary, Bowen resident for 27 years and owner of best friends canine coaching since 2001. On March 30, my wee dog Appie was hit by a car. We rushed her to Canada West critical care vet clinic, and over the next 36 tense hours they discovered that none of her injuries were fatal. However she had a badly broken pelvis, dislocated hip and smashed humerus along with some bad lacerations and bruises.
I had some bad moments with the decision between ending her life and putting her through several major surgeries and a long and painful recovery but the wonderful surgeons were very positive about her condition and recovery, so there was no real choice.
10 days and 2 major surgeries later, Appie was released from hospital and we came home. However there was the matter of her $37,000.00 bill. She does have insurance, just not nearly enough. So there’s maxed out credit cards at 20% interest that I have no idea how to pay off…
