Please help with Annie's broken jaw surgery!

Hi my name is Bruce Summers and pictured is our beautiful black Lab, Annie.

Tonight (Thursday night) my wife and I had just sat down to chat and give our dogs some love. Suddenly one of our dogs barked at something outside. Two of the dogs took off running upstairs. I heard a crash and asked my wife, what was that? She could barley see the stairs from our room and said it sounded like one of the dogs crashed. Annie came back to us and was bleeding profusely from her mouth. There was just so much blood! We checked her mouth thinking she bit her lip or tongue. But immediately we could see that a canine tooth was crooked, teeth in the front were missing and the lower jaw was about an inch past her upper jaw!!! It appeared to us the jaw was broken, a horrific and devastating injury.

My wife wrapped an absorbant puppy pad around her muzzle as I got the car ready to rush her to the hospital. We drove her to the VCSG Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Chattanooga.

They took xrays and the lower jaw is broken below the teeth. She will need to stay tonight until the orthopedic surgeon arrives in the morning. She will need surgery and may be at the hospital for an additional 48 hrs or more.

The projected overnight care alone (for one night!!) is from 2200.00 to 4200.00, cost depending what she may need. This is BEFORE the cost of surgery and any after care costs!

Normally we are frequently the ones helping others. I am a retired Police Officer dealing with some ongoing medical issues. Worst of all, due to corporate downsizing, my wife was just laid off her job the day before, after 11 yrs at her company with NO SEVERANCE!
