Please help Wendye recover from the Dixie Fire.
Wendye Markowitz, a paramedic for Care Flight Ground in Plumas County, has dedicated most of her adult life to helping others and now she is the one in need of help. On August 4, 2021 the Dixie Fire ripped through the community of Greenville California, destroying the entire town. Wendye was the paramedic on duty in Greenville when the winds changed and her community was suddenly engulfed. Rather than evacuating ahead of the firestorm Wendye responded to a 911 call, leaving everything including her pets to save the life of an elderly resident. With the exception of her truck and her animals, Wendye has lost everything. Wendye has been a fixture in the local EMS community working as a volunteer firefighter, a paramedic for REMSA/Care Flight and an educator within the community. We are raising funds to help Wendye get back on her feet and move forward through this tragedy. Any and all help would be welcome and so appreciated.
This fundraiser has been organized by the friends, co-workers and family of Wendye at Care Flight (Reno, Nevada). ALL FUNDS DONATED will go directly to Wendye for immediate access to rebuild her life.
