Here is Weezy's story (from their page):

Benton (Weezy) was surrendered to us recently in less than ideal condition. As we tried to get a handle on his medical needs we received an email that strenghtened our resolve to make things right for him.

"Good afternoon. My name is ..., I am 17 years old and this is my dog, Weezy. My father brought him to you all's location unbeknownst to me on Thursday, September 8th. I came home only to find him no longer in his kennel. I was devastated. I grew up with him since I was 9 years old, and to no longer have him hearts my heart. I am begging that you all PLEASE give Weezy a chance before you sedate and put him to sleep. He is an AWESOME dog, but I also know that due to his severe mange, it will be somewhat hard to find him a home. I really hate the disservice that we did to Weezy and his fur. If it is not too much to ask, I am begging you all to please please please find him a great home. The thought of him being put to sleep kills me inside. I will be 18 in February, and if he is still around, I would love to come retrieve my dog, being that I will be a legal adult. Thank you all in advance. "

I went by to visit Weezy and all he wanted to do was put his head in my lap and play ball. I had originally wanted to foster Weezy until his condition was better, but medical fostering at Fulton is not available (according to them) and I did not know if Weezy's clock would run out before I could do a foster anyway.  I took him home on Wednesday.

Weezy's skin condition isn't mange. Its some bacterial infection that he's had for a really, really long time. I can't imagine how his life was before. Now he's home with me and my son and our two dogs. He gets medicated baths and plenty of high quality food.  He has a soft comfy place to sleep and a "day bed" where he can lounge on my porch and watch people duuring the day. 

But Weezy is not out of the woods yet. He is way skinner even than he looks in the photo. Plus he's got to get treatment for the skin condition which has caused him to have a lot of skin tags that are almost like warts.  This is kind of gross, but he licks and chews at them constantly, so I know they must bother him.   I'd like to get him to the vet ASAP to have them removed and also prevent any more from developing.  

If you can help Weezy have a better life by contributing to a fund for his medical bills, I literally BEG you to do so. Normal vet bills I can handle, but Weezy needs special care to recover from years of neglect. Weezy has a fund set up at WellPet Humane (wellpethumane.com) which is 100% devoted to his medical bills.   Some people have had trouble contributing though, because you have to talk to an operator and I guess they are not used to taking donations over the phone so I set up this gofundme for Weezy.

I'm trying to get Weezy in by Saturday because his meds from Fulton give out then. Please help if you can. Even a little bit is appreciated.
