Help Watson to get his Hare Lip & Cleft Palette fixed
Donation protected
This is my beautiful boy Watson.
I have just adopted him from Animal Rescue.
This gorgeous boy is the result of someone breeding for money and not having a clue on how to look after the pregnant mum. Sadly Watson was the only survivor from his litter and he was born with several health problems- cerebellar hypoplasia (wobbly cat syndrome), hare lip, cleft palette, and gum disease. His owner was unable to sell him and shut him away for a year on his own. She tried unsuccessfully to breed again and so got rid of them to focus on breeding dogs (god help them). Mum was adopted within days but sadly no one would even look at Watson with his health needs - he has also had all but 4 teeth removed due to gum disease at the age of 11 months! I had the animal rescue place Dad and Son in the same pen to comfort each other and I decided on the spot I was going to give both of them their forever home and best life possible.
They have gone from being shut down, frightened, not eating and having no interest in anything to inquisitive, playful, fun loving boys that follow me everywhere, sleep on the bed, talk to me and would eat everything in sight if I let them
Watson really struggles with maintaining or gaining any weight and has great difficulty eating - most of his food comes back out and is literally flung around the room. The diagnosis was only made when I took him and his Dad for their health check - I thought it was because of his wobbly cat syndrome, but no. This was a huge blow as the operation is going to be about £5-6000 and he is uninsurable! I don’t love him any less and will find the money somehow, he deserves his best life.
You can see in the photo that he has his tongue out most of the time, due to his hare lip (which you can really see in the fourth photo) - but I think he is just gorgeous.
He desperately needs his operation so that he can be well and live the life he so deserves. Every penny raised will go towards his operation and vet care and every penny donated brings him closer to being able to eat and breathe normally.
Thank You so so much for your help and support
