Please help Vietnam medic vet Doc & wife Sarah

Doc and Sarah Knapp are very dear friends to many of us, lovely people who have contributed to our community in many ways. Ernest "Doc" Knapp, was a combat medic in Vietnam disabled from Agent Orange exposure. He has been a lifelong activist for veterans, especially fellow Vietnam veterans, and played guitar at musical benefits for veterans as long as his health permitted. Sarah, also a musician, is a warm, caring person who has always enjoyed helping others in many aspects of her life such as advocacy work and writing her book “The Long Road Back to Joy”. In it she shares her healing journey, hoping it can encourage others on their path to healing to discover joy again.

Now this wonderful couple really needs some financial help!

Sarah has been in and out of the hospital for an irreversible lung condition. Sarah is home and has Home Hospice because now she needs comfort care, a continuous oxygen generator, bipap and other medical equipment. It is unknown how much time Sarah has left, but they want to make sure they can focus on quality of life near the end of this journey and savor their precious time together in comfort and at peace. Doc is caring for her and is keenly aware that one of their most immediate needs is an emergency power backup system. A sudden power outage, while an inconvenience to the rest of us, is a life-threatening situation for Sarah and not the natural transitioning of Hospice she and Doc would choose.

This "Go Fund Me" could take some of the load off of an already overwhelming situation for this sweet couple, who also have additional financial stressors and needs because of Sarah’s condition.
