Hello, my name is Shemika and I am fundraising for my husband Scott’s business. Scott is a disabled veteran who co-founded a construction business over a year ago. Scott started Victus Contracting with a personal mission to serve communities by creating career opportunities, with a special emphasis of helping disabled veterans who find it difficult to secure a place in the competitive workforce. Victus Contracting also seeks to empower other small business owners through various partnerships and collaborations who share the same mission and values. Unfortunately the business partnership with the co-owner has ended as their values were not in alignment. This resulted in unforeseen actions by the removed partner. All of the business bank funds were extracted from the business bank account. The bank is slow to resolve. In the meantime, we are facing unfinished construction projects, as well as unpaid subcontractors, employees, and vendors. This burden affects many families not just ours. My husband is humbly seeking to raise $60,000 in financial assistance by September 29th to prevent him from having to shut down the business. This has truly been an extremely difficult time and we have exhausted all of our resources. We have a great business relationship with our clients and are doing everything in our power to sustain these relationships. They are of the utmost importance to the business and to our family.
