Incredibly sadly, our friend Andy passed away yesterday from complications associated with Covid.
He had been in a coma for the past four days and received multiple transfusions of blood containing covid-antibodies. However his body was unable to overcome the ravages of the virus.
His family is so grateful for the heartwarming rallying of the community in stepping up to donate blood and giving them financial assistance.
This fundraiser is now crucial since, along with the considerable and extraordinary medical expenses related to his care and treatment, the family no longer have the financial contribution of their father in the future.
The kids are still alone at home looking after their elderly grandmother while their mum tries to return to Bali at great cost. To do this and be with her children also means leaving behind her work which further erodes the family’s income.
We are conscious of the financial difficulties of everyone in these unprecedented times, but if you are in a position to help this family with a small donation, it will go a long way to easing some of their troubles at this time.

My name is Katherine and I am a teacher. My student Vaihei is an amazing young adult and this fundraiser has been created to help her and her family. Vaihei's father Andy, who is an otherwise healthy middle aged man, went into hospital with Covid 19 last week and is now in ICU awaiting an emergency transfusion. He is experiencing unusually servere symptoms that have resulted an extreme breakdown in his immunity and body function. Vaihei and her brother are at home with their aged and dependent grandmother. Thier mother Vanina, has been stuck overseas for many months and is trying her best to get back to her family! They are a very proud family but are in the dire situation of having extraordinary expenses that are not able to be covered by the family nor insurance.
