Please help us with Funeral costs for Momma Judy

Hi friends,

I am making this GFM because my best friend's mom passed away last night on July 25th, 2022. Funeral costs are always more than expected and this death was unexpected. So, every little bit helps.

Momma Judy was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in August of 2020. Because of the Multiple Myeloma, she went into Stage 5 (complete) kidney failure. This means she had to get chemo for the Myeloma, as well as dialysis for the kidneys. For two years, all of their resources went into medical treatments and living costs in order for Momma Judy to fight the sickness and things were looking up. Last month in June, she went to a hospital in Atlanta, GA to see if she qualified for a stem cell transplant. The treatment called for aggressive chemo rounds when she got back home but she never got to start the pre-treatments. After she got back from Atlanta, her health started to get worse. Ups and downs in her health had happened before in the two long years of chemo and dialysis and Momma Judy had always been able to fight to get better. Last night, she lost the battle and found her peace.

This is where you come in. We need help to pay the costs to celebrate this sweet woman's life. Between chemo and dialysis, Momma Judy had to quit working, which means she lost her life insurance policy. Her children are having to pay for everything out of pocket. They only need $4,000. That means if 200 people donated $20, they would be able to pay for all the costs required.

We are guestimating:

$3000 for the cremation

$500 for the services

$500 for the urns and a flower arrangement of Yellow roses ( Momma Judy's favorites)

You beautiful people! Thank you! We reached our goal in less than 24 hours. I am personally extending the goal amount because Momma Judy's last wishes were for her ashes to be spread on as many beaches as possible, so, we have beaches from Panama City Beach, Florida and Santa Monica, Ca covered. If possible, we would like to fit a few more beaches in there, so whatever extra is donated will be going towards that. Thank you all so much; the family is shocked by how gracious everyone has been and they thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
