Hello my name is Jessica and I’m fundraising for our daughter Esme rose Garcia. She is currently in the pediatric intensive care unit at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. What started out with her and her sister having RSV has left our four month old baby fighting for her life.
A little background on our situation. My husband and I got job offers in Tallahassee Florida that we couldn’t refuse, so we loaded up our girls and made a move that we thought was gonna be the best decision for our family. We arrived in Tallahassee got our girls in daycare for the first time ever and began started our new jobs. A few days later Isabella became very I’ll she had fevers over 101 up to 103.8 that wouldn’t break either with the use of Tylenol and ibuprofen for several days. During this time she visited the ER several times because we had just moved here and don’t have a primary care physician or insurance because of the job change. They were both diagnosed with RSV Esme was doing really well at first. Isabella on the other hand was awful. They were nights when she laid in my arms with fever so high tears rolling down her cheeks. I thought we were gonna lose her. She started to get better we had hope. Maybe we’re finally through this. We were so hopeful. We’d made a really bad first impression on our new boss. Then overnight Esme got bad fast we took her to the ER for breathing problems they gave her a nebulizer and sent her home. Two days later she was still breathing that way so I took her back to the ER they admitted her transferred her to a different hospital once we arrived at the other hospital she was evaluated and sent to the ICU. She has been on oxygen since we arrived she was not really improving so the did another chest X-ray. My husband had to take our one year-old home because children are not allowed in the ICU. I kept asking people if they thought she was going to be OK and I look they kept giving me it was terrifying. I knew something was wrong I called my husband and told him to get up here. He arrived at the same time the doctor came in to tell us the Esmes lung collapsed. We had two options sedate her put her on a breathing machine and put a tube in her chest or do a local antistatic. I can’t believe we are even hearing this. She’s only 4 months old and 11 lbs. Seeing your helpless baby so sweet and innocent going through so much is so heartbreaking I don’t know how people do this. We’re asking for help, help with prayers and help financially so that we don’t have to worry as much about all the bills coming in while we’re at the hospital with our sweet sweet Esme. Esme is the sweetest baby she has big blue eyes and the sweetest smile. Please please pray for our princess we cannot lose her.
