Looking for help to fight for our sweet boy

** UPDATE**

Jett is clear of his infection and has been off of his antibiotics but there is still always a chance it could come back because we dont know the root cause of it. He is still on painkillers and thyroid medicine that he will have to take the rest of his life. He is doing well, our poor boy had 3 different things going on with him all at once when he was hospitalslized.

Donations are still greatly appreciated and will go towards his monthly meds totalling $150 and his ACL surgery that we are trying to schedule an appointment for which will cost us almost 7k. Right now he only needs his right ACL repaired but the hospital said he will also need the left one done eventually. We are so grateful he is doing better and thank you to everyone who has donated and shared ❤️

Hello everyone! My name is Sarah and we are trying to raise money for our dogs medical expenses. Our sweet boy Jett is a Black Lab and he just turned 2 years old. He is the sweetest boy and over the last couple weeks he's randomly started having some health issues.

Over the last 2-3 weeks he's been having some issues with his legs swelling so much it's creating lameness. He started limping out of nowhere, then eventually his back left leg began to swell to the point he couldn't walk. He's been on steroids and antibiotics prescribed from the vet over the last 1.5 weeks. We then began to notice his front right leg was starting to swell but first with both legs it would begin as his skin being loose and jiggly (appeared to be fluid filled). The swelling in his back leg is gone but it's concerning because it's moving to other legs.

The emergency vet came back with the diagnosis of an infectious disease, they are unsure of what causes it and they recommended a CT scan to see where the infection is. He is being hospitalslized tonight so we were unable to bring him home with us. It appears to be the beginning of a very long road with still a lot of unanswered questions so any help is appreciated as we want to give our boy the best chance. So far the costs are at an upwards of $15,000 and we still have continued treatment to pay for.

These funds will be used for additional tests, hospitalization, medication and cultures on the fluid that's in his legs.

He is currently hospitalized and has been since Wednesday 4/23. We were able to visit him which made us really happy. Our hearts are broken and we are trying to remain positive. His oxygen levels dropped so now he is receiving oxygen therapy.

Update 5/3/25
Our boy is home and recovering but still has a long road ahead of him. He's still unable to walk on his own but is getting stronger little by little everyday. We haven't gotten the lab work back yet to know what caused this infectious disease but the doctor is leaning more towards a bacterial infection. We have to bring him back to the pet hospital next week for a reassessment and recheck appointment for medication adjustments. Hes doing well at home so far with his breathing and swelling while getting massages and stretches to help keep the fluid out of his limbs.

Please send all the good vibes our way and any help is appreciated. So happy to have our baby home!!!

We are very scared and worried because we love our boy so much. Please send good healing vibes.

Thank you for taking the time to read about our story and donate if youre able too. I will continue to update as we get updates from the emergency vet.
