Please help us try to save Junebug!

Donation protected
Update 4pm 8/7: Junebug passed away. We are devastated. She tried so hard to stay with us but her body just couldn't handle all the infection and damage caused by the infection.
If anyone wants to donate for cremation or the $3,000 in medical expenses from before surgery we would be forever grateful for the help. This has been an emotionally exhausting day and we are trying to accept that our perfect girl is gone. Please remember, any extra money collected will be donated back to where they adopted her from. Thank you for everyone's prays and thoughts.

Update 12pm 8/7: Junebug is in surgery. It doesnt look good. The infection has moved to her abdomen and has damaged her kidney, which was 4xs the size it was supposed to be, so they had to remove it and the scar tissue adhered to her intestines so a portion of her intestines has been removed. We fear she may not make it through surgery. But we asked her to please try to save her life. Please pray hard for this sweet girl.

Update 8/6: We just found out her surgery is being covered by another organization. We are beyond grateful for the help.
Junebug still has other medical expenses, so we will still need your help.
Thank you to everyone who has shared and donated.

Update 8/5: her surgery is scheduled for Thursday 8/7. They are estimating around $3,000. Which is way less than we originally were told.

Hi, my name is Tauri. I am creating this for my sister and mom.

In May, my disabled sister Brooke decided it was time to start looking for a companion dog. She reached out to our cousin Aubrey, who works at our county dog warden's office, for more information and guidance. Aubrey was excited to introduce Brooke and Tracy (our mom) to Roe. Roe was brought into the shelter emaciated and pregnant in August 2024. She gave birth to 8 healthy babies who were all adopted out. Roe was fostered by Aubrey when she had her babies, so Aubrey was pretty familiar with her behavior and mannerisms and felt she would be the perfect fit for Brooke.

Brooke and Tracy went in on June 7th to meet Roe. It was love at first sight. Junebug came home the next week and met so many family and friends who immediately fell in love with her.

Fast forward to July 13th. I stopped over at their house to help my sister and noticed I wasn't greeted at the door as usual by Junebug. I asked Brooke where she was, thinking maybe she had gone for a car ride. Brooke told me she was in the bathroom. I checked on her, and she was lying on the floor. She looked up at me but didn't really react like normal. She looked sick and felt very warm. I called Tracy at work and told her something was wrong. She took Junebug to the vet that day and was given medications and sent home with care instructions. Junebug showed improvement and was soon right back to her silly self.

A week later, she was back for a checkup, and her red blood count was low, while her white blood cell count was high. They did an ultrasound and found a mass in her abdomen. They did the biopsy later that week and sent them home to wait for the results. They were pretty sure she had cancer but were unsure how advanced it might be.

Last week, they called with the results, and the mass was cancer-free!!! Woohoo!

Unfortunately, we learned pretty quickly that might not be the case. On Sunday, she was back to feeling sick, not eating, with a fever. Mom took her back to the vet and was told Junebug has internal bleeding. They couldn't tell from the ultrasound or x-ray where the bleeding was coming from but thought it might be from the mass. They sent her home again with medicine. Their advice was to take her to OSU or Akron and do an exploratory surgery to figure out what is causing the internal bleeding, and she needs a blood transfusion. They told Tracy (mom) it would cost $7,000 just for the exploratory surgery. We are devastated. This girl is the best dog who deserves a long, happy life.

We are already over $3,000 in for the last 3 weeks. We can't afford any more. We are asking for help with the exploratory surgery and any expenses related after. If we can get enough to cover her expenses and have any left over, it will all go back to the shelter where we got her. Please help us save this sweet, loving pup.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. We appreciate every share and donation.
