My name is Heather. I am the only daughter of a veteran, who unfortunately died from the injuries of his body being burned badly from a fire. Bob was a lively, goofy man, who enjoyed helping others and talking to everyone.

Sadly, he lived off of social security, and did not have the funds to plan or pay for his death. As a mom of 7, I am now left with the responsibility to solely raise the money for not only his transport, cremation, and fees involved in that, but also to plan a celebration of life service.

My goal is to raise enough money to have all of the services for his body, and then enough for our family to come together and celebrate his life. I hate asking for help, but I don’t know how we can do this without help.

Sadly, even though he served our country, the government only offers a $300 reimbursement after everything has been paid for. I’m not even sure how that helps. How do we not do more for our veterans?

Please help me fund the cremation and service for this man, that I love, but was unable to help. As he sat in ICU for 2 1/2 weeks, we kept being told that he was stable and he would pull through. I didn’t even get to say goodbye to him, since I live so many states away. This whole thing has been devastating to our family and the people who knew my father.
