Please help us support Sam against her autoimmune illness

Hello everyone. As many already know, my sister has been suffering from unknown medical problems for several months. Several ER visits and referrals later, she has been officially diagnosed with an undifferentiated connective tissue disease, most likely systemic lupus. She has been unable to do basic activities of daily living, let alone go to work every day. It has been a challenge for her to care of her beautiful son & financially support him on her own.

Her body is literally attacking itself every single day in every single way, from debilitating joint pain & weakness to extreme weight loss. It is terrifying and exhausting. Her job has been so supportive and understanding, but she has run out of PTO and is not yet eligible for FMLA. Of course myself and our family have been helping in every way we can, but we are reaching out to anyone else who may be able to help her. Assistance with alleviating some financial stress would help tremendously, as continued medical treatment and testing costs will be substantial.

It has been very painful to watch my best friend go through this & I am begging for anyone to help her. She has had a terrible time trying to convince people that she has truly been suffering, and it is very unfortunate that it takes this amount of effort to prove it. Our healthcare system has failed her. If you are able to help but prefer another way, things like grocery and gas gift cards would be amazing. Please keep Sam in your thoughts and prayers, she is such a wonderful person who has been through so much, including already having cancer. She has a long road ahead of her and we are so appreciative to anyone who has already helped her and anyone who helps in the future.

I also want to say that the listed goal is just a number, we appreciate any help. The only goal is to help Sam.
