My name is Anita Jim and on Thursday, September 26th, my brother Bryan and his wife Hannah welcomed another beautiful son into their family.
After some issues with his heart rate, the baby was delivered by emergency c-section. Once the baby was delivered, it was discovered that Hannah had unknowingly suffered a placental abruption which caused the baby to ingest fluid and has ultimately affected the baby’s ability to breathe on his own.
After a couple of unsuccessful attempts to secure the baby a life flight, he was finally transferred to San Diego via ambulance early on Friday morning. Since his arrival in San Diego his amazing team of doctors have made the difficult decision to switch him from a ventilator to an ECMO machine.
The baby is still not of the woods and has quite a long road and a long fight a head of him. They anticipate the baby will be in San Diego for treatment for at least a month.
This devastating time will of course have a huge emotional and financial impact on this young family as they travel back and forth to San Diego to support the baby in his battle.
Please consider donating if you are able to help offset these costs to help them focus on the difficult road ahead head to help get the baby healthy.
If you are not able to donate, we understand and will accept any prayers, well wishes and positive thoughts you may have for the baby that we love so much and have waited to welcome into our family for months.
