Please help us send Manuel home

We brought Manuel on as a line cook at Chambers back in 2015. He spoke very little and stayed out of any drama however he quickly became an indispensable member of the team. As 6 chefs came and went throughout his tenure, Manuel always bridged the gaps filling in when we needed him to run the show and then graciously assisting each chef with a smooth transition into his new position. Not one of these chefs ever had a negative word to say about Manuel. He never once raised his voice or even indicated frustration or agitation despite having ample reason to.

He worked with us faithfully and steadily with us up until late 2022 when he was diagnosed with bone cancer. After an arduous battle, he passed away last week. He is sorely missed by his colleagues at Chambers and by his beloved brother, son, 2 daughters and mother who he leaves behind.

His family has incurred many expenses caring for him over the past few months. We can't help ease the suffering of their loss but we can perhaps alleviate some of the financial burden that accompanies their grief.

Please help us send him home to his mother for proper burial. This cost alone is $5400 however we'd love to exceed this to offset the cumulative financial stress they've been enduring.

Trajimos a Manuel como cocinero de línea en Chambers en 2015. Hablaba muy poco y se mantenía al margen de cualquier drama, sin embargo, rápidamente se convirtió en un miembro indispensable del equipo. Como 6 chefs iban y venían a lo largo de su mandato, Manuel siempre llenó los vacíos cuando lo necesitábamos para dirigir el programa y luego ayudó amablemente a cada chef con una transición sin problemas a su nuevo puesto. Ninguno de estos chefs tuvo una palabra negativa que decir sobre Manuel. Nunca levantó la voz ni siquiera indicó frustración o agitación a pesar de tener amplias razones para hacerlo.

Trabajó con nosotros fiel y constantemente hasta finales de 2022 cuando le diagnosticaron cáncer de huesos. Después de una ardua batalla, falleció la semana pasada. Sus colegas de Chambers lo extrañan mucho y su amado hermano, hijo, 2 hijas y madre a quienes deja atrás.

Su familia ha incurrido en muchos gastos para cuidarlo en los últimos meses. No podemos ayudar a aliviar el sufrimiento de su pérdida, pero tal vez podamos aliviar parte de la carga financiera que acompaña a su dolor.

Por favor, ayúdenos a enviarlo a casa con su madre para un entierro adecuado. Este costo por sí solo es de $5400; sin embargo, nos encantaría superarlo para compensar el estrés financiero acumulado que han estado soportando.
