Most are aware that I’ve been facing major medical issues since March 2022. At that time I was diagnosed with COVID and shortly after Rheumatoid Arthritis and Sjögren's. Shortly thereafter I became septic, ended up in ICU with a severe UTI, Kidney Infection. They diagnosed all of this for “Long COVID”.

I was put on heavy doses of steroids, Methotrexate and other meds in an attempt to get my immune system back to normal. There have been just a small number of times my immune system turned around slightly but then right back to bad again.

January of this year I was diagnosed with COVID once again. I became septic again and this time I had a severe kidney infection, UTI and again ended up in ICU. My immune system is and was still under attack.

February 23 while simply sweeping the floor, my right leg shattered both in the Tibia and the knee. The injury was so severe and this type does not happen that often, the search was on for a specialized Orthopedic surgeon. I have been in 4 different hospitals, 3 different skilled nursing facilities and finally on April 11, (6 weeks from injury) major surgery was done on my right knee and leg. Since April 11 I’ve also been back in the hospital for infection. Last week I underwent another surgery on the knee as there was infection that set it that needed cleaned out and treated.

Surgery completed, I’m back in the SNF trying to get strength back.

I’ve been out of work since February 23 and I have no idea when I will be able to find another job. The doctor is thinking I will be confined to the SNF here for at least another 8-10 weeks completely non-weight bearing on the right leg. Once I reach the level of being able to go home, I will still need lots of home healthcare. I’m blessed and my Mom and sister will be coming to help for a short time. I would normally not post like this or ask for donations but not only and I’m scared but I’m in terrible fear we are going to lose our home. Please help share if you can.
