Most of the time, inheriting a homeplace would be a good thing..

I lost my dad last year and he left me the family land. I thought I would be the 4th generation to be able to share family gatherings with my children and grandchildren; making memories on our land. Little did I know how deep in debt my dad was. After finding this out, I have been making small payments to everything he owes but the extensions the court has been giving me have finally come to an end. My last extension gives me until August 1, 2018. I have to come up with barely under $4,000 to keep my home. If I can't pay all the debt completely off by then, they will come and auction off my home...and all my memories. This means I will be homeless, as will my children and grandchildren. (They live right next door; what a blessing!) I have tried to pay it off as fast as I can. I have even allowed my own bills to get behind.

My children and grandchildren will be the 5th and 6th generation. I don't want to see this place sold to people who won't care about all the past family gatherings we have had here. My dad and his sisters were born and raised here so please, help us keep our home. Please pray, prayer warriors, for my family. Thank you and God Bless.
