Mario was a bright kid with a bright future when it was stolen by a  killer who left him for dead after a brutal, torturous, attack. Mario is the only one survivor of others that this monster tortured and killed.   Mario was in a coma for 6 months and went through many surgeries and lots of sets back until finally learning how to breathe, talk and think.  After a long struggle, he finally made it home to his loving family and friends.   

However, in recent weeks, he has developed infections, triggering seizures, leading to further brain damage.  Mario has been in the hospital three times in the past month and a half.   He cannot take more antibiotics because his immune system, kidneys and heart are failing and the doctors are running out of options.

There is one last hope.   Though experimental, a stem cell transplant has proven to reconnect the brain cells to command the organs to work again.   The promising solution is not covered by insurance and is the only solution available at this time.   Without the surgery, Mario will die.   With the surgery, he stands a real chance for survival and even revival beyond his current condition. 

We have communicated directly with a stem cell clinic that will conduct the procedure and we discussed logistics.  The stem cells can be harvested directly from Mario because he is still young.

We are running out of time.  We need help as soon as possible before he is struck by another crisis.   We are blessed to have Mario outside of the hospital at this moment, happy to be alive and surrounded by loved ones, but every day, hour, and minute that passes brings greater and greater risk.
