This is Lanna. She is our 13 week old baby. She is the sweetest, cuddliest and most adorable companion. She's our family. She's been a bit sick for a while, but we thought nothing more than it being the side effects of her deworming medication that was administered by our veterinarian. Over time, she's grown thinner, and thinner. Our vet just kept telling us to change her diet. She became skin and bone. Lethargic. depressed. She is no longer the happy little puppy she used to be. She stopped eating and drinking water completely. We thought it was just long term side effects and she would bounce back. After countless days and hours of switching shifts between who's going to watch her, we rushed her to an emergency clinic. The doctor was shocked at her appearance. I handed her frail body over to the technician and they took her into the exam room. A sonogram was performed as well as a blood test. The results tore our hearts out. She has less than half of her necessary red blood cell count, less than half of her platelet count. She is dying. Verbatim, from the emergency vet, her lifespan is on a ticking clock. The visit alone including the test and blood work cost us around $980 that we don't have. As I'm typing this, we are being sent directly from that emergency vet to an emergency vet specialist where she will most likely be on a feeding tube, fluids and a blood transfusion. The costs are way above what we have in our bank accounts. We don't want to lose her. We can't. If we cannot pay for these treatments, she will die. Anything helps.
