Support Juliet the cat's surgery! - UPDATE 12-16
Donation protected
Hello friends, I’d like you to meet sweet Juliet. She and her brother Romeo were adopted as kittens by my good friends Scott and Chad. They are devoted to their rescue animals which includes two dogs and four cats and among them is young Juliet. In a short 4-day period starting 12/10/23, Juliet fell ill and went from fine to fighting for her life at the tender age of 18 months. She had surgeries at two specialist’s practices and was in critical care until, worst of all, she lost her fight. Juliet did well with the second surgery and in post-op until what is thought to be a blood clot in her lungs or brain brought her fight to an end at 11:15 on 12/13/23. I ache for the grief her pet parents feel and to add insult to injury, instead of looking forward to bringing Juliet home by Christmas, they are only faced with a huge debt.
I'm advocating for Juliet's parents because my family has been on the precipice of "can I afford this" and “what is (beloved pet's name) life worth in dollars.” No pet parent wants to have to trade off the cost to (hopefully) cure a juvenile pet against purely financial considerations. No pet parent needs that pressure and by banding together, we can take away some of that stress from others. Please help by donating and reposting our plea with friends and animal lovers everywhere. Remember you can donate anonymously, and no amount is too small - it takes a village!
A very random set of circumstances came together that threatened her life: a hairball combined with a hidden complication from her spay surgery in 2022 were impeding her liver function. She was in critical care at a Leesburg veterinary specialist – and sadly she was the most critical patient there. Her loving dads spent over $29,000 for diagnostics, surgery, and very costly 24/7 post operative care. During “JuJu’s” struggle, I suggested Scott & Chad put up a GoFundMe so other caring individuals could easily help them pay for Juliet’s veterinary treatment without sacrificing the care they give to their other rescue animals or, worst of all, short-changing little Juliet.
If you too are a loving pet parent or animal lover, please consider donating. Any amount of money you contribute will be a help - every dollar counts! We realize it’s the holiday season, but even simply donating today's Starbucks’ money to help this sweet little cat’s family will be a plus. Scott & Chad will be the direct recipients of all funds raised and will apply them to the veterinary expenses incurred in her emergency care. My only role is as cheerleader and chief enabler to these two wonderful souls who are devastated by the whirlwind loss of their beloved JuJu.
I posted photos of Juliet from before this health concern came up. I don't know about you, but I just can't say no to that face. Thank you for your time and (we hope) for your kind donation.
