Coco's mama was hard at work volunteering to sew masks for people in Brazil and for family here in the U.S., to help people out during the pandemic.  Being a typical cat, he got into some innocent mischief and ended up eating almost an entire spool of thread! It's been over a month now and the vet was assuring Coco's mom and dad that he just needs the thread to pass through. Unfortunately, this was not the case and he had to go to the ER on August 24th, 2020.  He is severly anemic and now has liver damage.  

Last night, Coco had to have a blood transfusion and today, he is going into surgery.  Mom and dad can't be with Coco at all at the animal hospital due to COVID-19 and so this is extra difficult. 

ER visit was $4,000 and the surgery will be $12,000. 

There will be additional fees following,  as well as vet bills from the initial visits to the ER. 

Please know that my family treasures our animal friends. My sister traps ferals to neuter and spay and feeds them every day in South El Monte, CA.  We have rescued many kitters over the years and Coco is no different.  He was found in an industrial area along with his brother, Meatloaf and we bottle fed them to health. My brother and his wife decided to adopt Coco and Meatloaf and took these special kitties to Vancouver, Canada where they enjoy a good life.  These cats have been so special to my brother and sister-in-law and we do not want his life to end at 3 years old.  He has so many more years to live.  

2020 has been a hard year for all- I thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully you are in a position to donate anything you can to save Coco's life.  We love him dearly and would do anything do keep him here with us.  He is family.
