SHAMANDOME CAMP NEEDS YOUR HELP

and Shamandome deserves your support.

Our goal is $10,000.

We’re in a big financial hole and we need to replace much of our infrastructure which was lost to rain and mud last year.

Shamandome Camp‘s gift of service, to the community and to each other, is unique at Burning Man. For the fifteen years we have served Black Rock City, Shamandome is the only camp introducing newcomers to shamanic practice in circle while offering shamanic healing and other modalities in one-on-one sessions with experienced practitioners. We host an eclectic program of workshops, often with guest presenters, as well. Thousands of burners have visited us – hundreds each year.

We all know what happened in ’23. Unseasonable rain turned the burn into a National Disaster. As soon as the playa was dry enough to start the hard work of pulling our camp out of the muck, we discovered that most of our soft gear was either ruined or so heavy that it wouldn’t dry out by the time we would need to load it into our semi-trailer (in storage, wet stuff becomes moldy stuff). Almost none of our mats & rugs were salvageable. Added to this injury was the considerable expense of disposing of all of it properly.

Our camp spirit stayed strong, but our physical camp took a hard blow, and making good on all our responsibilities put us into a deep financial hole.

A seven-thousand-dollar hole.

We need almost half that much again to restore what we lost and replace our ground coverings with materials that will last through dust and rain.

So, our goal is $10,000

For a camp of forty-five or so, that's a lot of financial ground to cover.
