We are Kayleigh and Phil, and we are due to get married in Tenerife on the 6th of June 2026.

We booked this back in 2023, through a well established wedding planner in Tenerife, called Claire Lopez. Her company is called Weddings in tenerife.

We made 6 large payments over the past 3 years to Claire to pay off our wedding, equating to £14,700.

This doesnt include the costs for everything outside of the wedding venue, such as attire, flights, accommodation, favours, etc.

We flew out in november to hand Claire a box full of personalised wedding favours she said she keep hold of for us to help reduce the amount of things we need to carry over in June.

However, on Friday 22nd May, at 11.17am, Claire sent a very brief email to us explaining that she intends to file for insolvency and she can't deliver products or services related to our wedding, and theres nothing she can do about it.

2 weeks before our wedding!!

No further correspondence was made from Claire.

It has transpired that out of all the money we paid, the only thing Claire had booked and paid for was the deposit of our venue, of €1000.

Where has our money gone??

A solicitor in tenerife has confirmed that to date, there is no filing for weddings in tenerife for insolvency!

We are absolutely devastated.

Having to ring my 40 guests 2 weeks before the wedding to tell them its off was the worst day of my life.

Fortunately they are all behind me, everyone is still flyingnout next week and they are all trying to help me put something together, to try and salvage what I can of my wedding day to make it as special as I possibly can!

I have some amazing people in tenerife helping me try and find things cheap and free to help put something together!

This is where we need help to try and raise the money we need to pay everything again!

We feel heartbroken to have to resort to ask for help, but having lost so much money because of Claire Lopez, we cant afford to pay it all again.

Anything anyone can contribute would be amazing and so gratefully appreciated. Anything we can raise will go towards paying for the services that have been discounted, and the ones offered for free will be paid if we can get enough together.
