Over the past week, Kingston BMX has been a target of theft on multiple instances. The theft included a break & enter of our maintenance shed and the equipment required to maintain our track has been stolen. Gas powered plate packer, dethatcher, and water pump along with weed eaters! As well, one of our members had provided a skidsteer to be used at the track, and it was also stolen.

Kingston BMX is a non- profit bmx club, located at the Woodbine Park in Kingston, Ontario. KBMX is run entirely by volunteers. As well, all track maintenance is done by the volunteers, and not the city.

This loss is extremely hard on the club. Although we have insurance, the deductible is high for us to fund. Kingston BMX has our large Provincial/Gold Cup race event weekend happening July 12-14th, and we really depend on these maintenance tools to ensure the track is in top shape for this event.

KBMX was on the news yesterday to bring awareness to the loss and the unfortunate situation. Since then, we have been receiving community support asking how they can help with re-purchasing equipment as well as monetary donations, and so we have decided a go fund me is the best route for this.

Any donations will go to the Kingston BMX club, in order to purchase new maintenance equipment and also to make our storage more theft-proof/additional security. If there are any funds remaining above and beyond, this will be used directly within the club towards our track maintenance/upgrades and benefit our riders.

Kingston BMX truly appreciates the support of the local businesses and community members that have reached out already, and those yet to come. We do this all for the kids and the love of this sport. Thank you!
