Never did I think that I would be in this position that I am in now, but does anyone?
Today is Monday April 28th and it's the day which I'll never forget. As any regular day I brought my three dogs downstairs before work for some bathroom duties. Coyotes have been on the news and I've been so wary, I really thought it would never happen to me but it did.. as I looked everywhere to ensure it was safe to put Cleo down I thought ok it's clear, as I put her on the ground she was frantically snatched by the coyote with it dashing away with Cleo tight in it's mouth, luckily her leash was in tact and I was able to rip Cleo out of the Coyotes mouth, but it didn't stop there. I was screaming yelling throwing my body in the air but it didn't care. One step back I'd take and the coyote would take 3 steps to me. I felt so useless not knowing how severely hurt Cleo was or if she would make it.. a neighbour came out banging her broom but it wouldn't stop there. It took her multiple times to distract the coyote for me to dash quickly inside. Once inside I couldn't believe the extent of Cleo's neck. The coyote ripped a large hole in her neck along with multiple other puncture wounds. She just turned one years old on 4/20 and we aren't fully updated with her shots as we've only had her a few months. Cleo has had to undergo x-rays, swabs, blood work, and now surgery to clean and repair her neck, along with a rabies booster.
She is very very lucky to be alive, she is so so tiny I really believe it's a miracle.
We are asking for some help to cover the vet bills which totaled out to be nearly 3000.00
Even a little bit helps, we are a young family with children and Cleo is a big part of our family
Thank you
