My name is Sophie and I am a Year 11 student and proud member of the Steyning Grammar School Cheerleading Squad. I’m writing to ask for your support in helping our team reach the next stage of our competition journey.

Over the past year, our squad has competed in two major competitions, proudly achieving first place in our sector at both events and even earning the highest scoring team overall in each competition! Thanks to our success, we have now been invited to compete in the next stage of the competition in Barcelona over the May Bank Holiday weekend — an incredible opportunity for our team to represent both our school and our local community on an international stage.

However, this exciting achievement comes with significant costs. With 27 students and teaching staff attending, the total cost is approximately £745 per person, and travel during the Bank Holiday weekend makes expenses higher than anticipated.

The school have been really supportive and are assisting with our fundraising. But we still need a lot more help.

We are therefore reaching out to local businesses for sponsorship or support to help us make this dream a reality. In return for your generosity, we will proudly recognise your business across our social media platforms, giving your company positive exposure within the school and local community.

We are also organising various fundraising events and would love to collaborate or hear any ideas you may have on how we can raise further funds together. Every contribution — big or small — will help us get closer to our goal of competing in Barcelona and continuing to make Steyning proud.
