My name is Stephanie, and our family is composed of my husband, our 4 kids (2 with special needs), and my husband Brendan.

Th is a very vulnerable post for us to make, but right now our family could really use some help.

Both of our children have monthly medication costs — about $160 a month for our daughter and $90 a month for our son.

Last month we were in a car accident, and this week we found out that our car has been written off. This means we now have no vehicle and no way to replace one due to losing our house in the fall and the repercussions from this. The only way would be for us to purchase it in a cash transaction.

One of our special need kiddos is our daughter Emerson. She is a teenager with cerebral palsy, drug resistant epilepsy and intellectual disability. Walking long distances is quite difficult for her.

Emerson was a patient ambassador for the Children’s Health Foundation for many years and helped raised funds for the Children’s Hospital. She is also a wish child with Make a Wish Canada and has also been an ambassador to help raise funds for those with life threatening illnesses.

Life has been incredibly difficult for our family lately. Between Emerson’s ongoing health concerns, our son breaking his hand, multiple emergency visits, a pregnancy loss, needed time off, and very limited work hours, it has been a lot to handle.

Due to losing our house, we are now living in a small two-bedroom apartment. Brendan has applied to well over 300 jobs and has only had a handful of interviews so far. My job is casual, so I only receive hours here and there.

Without a vehicle it will be very difficult to get Emerson to her medical appointments both in and out of town, her youth group which she enjoys, for her weekly adapted fitness sessions at TVCC, for Brendan to get to work in or out of town, for myself to get to different schools when I’m called in for work, and for Rowan to get to his activities.

This is incredibly hard for us to ask, but we are hoping for help raising money toward getting a reliable vehicle (a van or SUV with 6 seats) so we can get to appointments, work, and our children’s activities.
