(Update: 11/03/23)
Thanks for ton's of everyone's heart warming support, I could pay all back-utility costs.
The crisis of shutting down PG&E and water immediately was cleared at this time.

I have applied rent-assistance program by SF city / charity organization. To process my application, I need the documents signed by my landlord, but my landlord has been ignoring my / my case worker's email/calling over 10 days. So we can't process my assistance application.
The garage door of my unit is broken over 2 weeks, but my landlord has been ignoring my repair request.
I contacted legal service for low income people.
Hopefully everything will be going well.

My daughters and I have still need your support.
I really appreciate for everyone's kindness. Thank you.
=====================================================
Everyone to see this page,
I hope you are all doing well.

My name is Yoko, I'm a single mom of two daughters living in SF. We were victims of violence. My first daughter、Fumika, she has an intellectual disability and a history of epilepsy (ongoing medication) and receives SSI benefits. I also have a limited conservatorship for Fumika. My second daughter is attending 4 years college. Since my divorce in 2016, many people and SF city/CA state helped us.
I want to say a ton of thank you to everyone.

Since 2019 to during covid-19 pandemic, I worked as a oncology research assistant at Stanford University and UCSF. During pandemic, both of my daughter stayed at home (no go-out, no return to home), so I could ask my 2nd daughter monitor Fumika and I was able to work long hours. There was no problems at all.

However, once the pandemic ended and everyone returned to their previous-normal lives, my 2nd daughter also returned to face-to-face classes, and Fumika also started going to a welfare facility again. Fumika goes to the welfare facility around 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. (a bus picks her up), and she comes back around 2:30 p.m. Fumika can eat meals / make frozen meals in the microwave / change her clothes /her hygiene by herself, but we can't leave her at home alone. Of course, my 2nd daughter helps me and Fumika about this matter, but she has also her classes. Someone must be at home to receive when Fumika returns to home. It totally means that I only be able to work during the day between 10am and 2pm.

I also received cervical spine surgery in 2018 and 2022. The recovery from the surgery in 2022 was disappointing, and the side effects of the medication and body pain continued for a long time. (Now these symptoms had already cleared) I also have several other health issues and may need another surgery by next spring or so. If that happens, you may not be able to work for another month. I also have severely anemia and have been receiving iron infusion.

My working availability are very limited, and my recovery from surgery was not very good. For these two reasons, I quit my previous job November 2022. I applied for unemployment insurance benefits, but EDD terminated my benefit and I have not receive them (I don't know the reason and filed appeal).

Since quitting from my previous job last November, I have been using my retirement money and my personal saving saved, but I had already used out. Now I have been working as a customer service agent at midnight. I work as part-time, 20 hours a week, and my monthly income after taxes is about $1,300 a month. Fumika's SSI is $830 a month, and my younger daughter's part-time income is about $650 a month. The rent is $2211. Utilities, food, health cost, car cost for work...........Income minus cost is negative.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to pay my rent and utility yet October 2023. I applied rent assistance from SF city, but I'm not sure whether I can get or not. Social worker has been contacting my landlord, but there is no update. My garage door is broken, but my landlord doesn't repair. I think landlord never repair the door until I pay the full rent.

I wanted to attend City College of San Francisco (free tuition for SF residents) for changing my career, but it was difficult due to Fumika's schedule and classes schedule. I also looked for online schools, but I don't have tuition money. I investigated the cash aid provided by the city of SF or state. But since I have an income of about $1,300 this month, I was not eligible for any cash aid. I have already receiving food stamps ($100 a month) and Medicaid. I canceled Cable TV service. From next month (November), I increase working days with midnight work.

We will never rely solely on your kindness.
I will do my best for work, my will also do her best
However, I am unable to pay the rent, utility bill, and food expenses for this month and next several months.

Please help me and my daughters.
Happy Holidays
Thank you.
