My name is Priscilla, and I’m helping my uncle and our family right now as we try to lay his mother, Rose, to rest.
Rose Szumlicz was 92 years old and went to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep. We’re grateful she didn’t suffer, but it doesn’t make the loss any less severe.
She was deeply loved throughout her life, especially by her sons Michael and Joseph, who now just want to give their mom a proper burial and say goodbye with peace.
Rose had life insurance that was supposed to cover all her funeral costs, but we today found out it was left to her husband, who passed away over 10 years ago, and the will was never updated. Because of this, those funds aren’t available now, and the financial responsibility has fallen on the family.
We’re trying to raise $10,000 to help cover the cost of her funeral and burial.
There’s one thing we really want to make sure we honor. Rose’s wish was to be buried in the same dress she wore to her son’s wedding over 20 years ago. It’s a simple wish, but it meant everything to her and it means something to my uncle to be able to see that through for the woman he loved so deeply. We have her dress ready, now we’re praying we can bury her in it as she wished.
If you’re able to help in any way, even a tiny amount, it would truly make a difference for our family during this time.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for helping us honor Rose’s life.
The Funeral Home is Mastapeter Funeral Home in Roselle Park, NJ.
May the Lord Bless and Keep you all.
