Please help us lay Jorge A. Ruiz to rest...

Hello, everyone, my name is Joanna Diaz, I'm very saddened to share this with everyone but on December 26th, 2020 my older brother Jorge Alberto Ruiz was hit by an impaired driver at high speeds as he was correctly using a marked cross walk. He was rushed to UMC hospital with a low pulse. Doctors performed multiple brain surgeries, he also suffered a lot of broken bones. My brother kept fighting for his life every day while in ICU. Our whole family had the utmost confidence that he would survive but unfortunately, he took his last breath on Jan 6th, 2021. Those of you that got to meet my brother and knew that in November of 2001 he suffered a head-on collision and suffered a severe Traumatic Brain Injury. He was such an inspiration to all of us! My brother went from almost being unplugged from life support because doctors had pretty much given up on him! He spent months in a coma, couldn't walk or talk. eating from a feeding tube but with his strength and our mother's strong prayers. He started walking, Talking, he even rode a bike and went to college and finished his high school diploma. He was even taking criminal justice courses in college . He even went on to live on his own independently. My brother is my hero because when science and medicine gave up on him, he defied those odds with faith and courage proved everyone wrong!
All we want is help, so our family can lay him to rest respectfully. Anything will help. Thanks to everyone!
