Please help with Uncle Fred's Medical Bills

Help Keep Tito Fred in Hospital (Fundraiser Organized by the Arenas Family)


Hi everyone I am fundraising for my Filipino uncle who is currently in a hospital in the Philippines, his name is Uncle Fred Bondoc, we lovingly call him Tito Fred, “Tito” means “Uncle” in Filipino.

My Tito Fred has always been healthy and it breaks my heart to see him in the state he is in now, it breaks my heart to see his family so devastated with worry for him... and devastated at the mounting hospital bills that just keep piling on.  Tito Fred and my dad are the best of buddies and they enjoy each other’s company, they can even talk for hours on the phone on just about anything under the sun.

Currently Tito Fred is being treated for pneumonia and other complications, he is on oxygen for 24 hours, the doctors had to remove water around his lungs by inserting a needle in his back, he is being treated for a urinary tract infection, he had to undergo hemodialysis once, and hopefully that is the last of it, his hemoglobin levels also dropped and they had to give him blood thrice.. and sadly, Tito Fred also had to undergo debridement and cautery for some bedsores.  The doctors also had to operate on him and insert a PEG feeding tube in his stomach to get him the proper nutrition he needs, PEG stands for percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, a procedure in which a flexible feeding tube is placed through the abdominal wall and into the stomach. PEG allows nutrition, fluids and medications to be put directly into the stomach, bypassing the mouth and esophagus.

A couple of months ago, Tito Fred had a difficult time swallowing food so he became very malnourished and weak, at first he refused to go to the hospital but when he could hardly breathe, is when his family rushed him to the emergency room.  Thankfully Tito Fred is negative for Covid 19.

Tito Fred has been in the hospital since March 10, his immediate family wants to pull him out of the hospital but this would be premature as per his team of doctors… this would surely jeopardize my uncle’s health even further.  Of course we want Tito Fred to leave the hospital as soon as possible but only when the doctors give him the green light to go.

Please I appeal to your kind hearts for any financial support for it will surely go a long way in saving my uncle, he is a very good man, dearly loved by all of us… please help me save him.  The money will go to his medical bills, and aftercare expenses after he leaves the hospital … currently my uncle is unable to walk, so a caregiver is direly needed to turn him every 2 hours to avoid more bedsores and infection, he needs to be given food and medicines through his PEG. Funds raised will also go to all the special food, supplements, miscellaneous things needed like a walker, oxygen, specialists, and medicines for PEG feeding.  Tito Fred will also need a physical therapist to help him walk again, there may also be a need to hire a specialist to look into his swallowing reflexes.  

Please help me help my uncle and his family surpass this crisis in their lives. The funds raised will all be sent to his wife in the Philippines.
