My name is Hailey Babcock, and I am saddened to share the story of my brave father, Raymond Babcock. On Saturday, July 5th, he was rushed to the hospital in an altered state and was unable to provide any information about himself. Despite the challenges, the social worker persevered and finally found our family on Sunday. I immediately traveled to Virginia to be by his side, and my sister, Kaitlyn Salmieri, traveled from North Carolina.
On Monday, July 7th, the doctor shared the difficult news that my father's life was being sustained by machines, and he would not be returning to us. Tomorrow, we will say goodbye as his life support is withdrawn, and his organs will be donated to give others a second chance. An autopsy will follow, and then his remains will be sent to New Jersey, where we will celebrate his life with funeral services.
To help give my father the peaceful farewell he deserves, I am reaching out for support to cover his final expenses. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to honoring his memory. We are trying to bring our father back home to New Jersey, where he belongs, to be with his family.
Our father was taken off the machines today, and his soul is now at peace. On July 7, I was informed that there is an active criminal investigation taking place surrounding the cause of his departure and medical issues prior to his departure. Again, anything helps bring our father home. Thank you.
