Please help us honor our Marine

It is with great sadness that my siblings and I are making this GoFundMe posting regarding the loss of our father, Willie Gaines.

Hi, my name is Rochelle, and I am the middle child of Willie Gaines of West Haven, CT. On January 2, 2024, my father passed away unexpectedly.

My father had an unbound love for God, his children, horses, and playing his guitars, but there was nothing that made him more proud than the time he spent serving this country. My father was a proud Marine and would tell anyone who would listen about his time at Camp Lejeune and in Vietnam. However, similar to many other disabled veterans, my father did not have active life insurance at the time of his passing, unbeknownst to my siblings and I, and we are humbly requesting donations to ease the financial burden of funeral expenses for our dad and War Vet, so we can lay him to rest.

We have contacted various Veterans’ programs for assistance, but despite the sacrifices he has made, there is no financial help available for veterans unless they have an active policy.

Any funds received exceeding funeral expenses will be donated to the Homes for the Brave program in West Haven, CT.
