️Please help us honor our Dad, Johnny T Cavazos “Cowboy”

As many of you may know, our dad, Johnny T Cavazos aka COWBOY, was recently fighting for his life in ICU for a little over a week due to suffering from an Ischemic Stroke. After trying to remove a blood clot they found in his brain, he suffered brain bleeding & swelling which caused them to do emergency brain surgery on September 1st. Due to the increased swelling of his brain, they did a Craniotomy on him; which is a surgical procedure that involved removing a piece of his skull to remove some of the pressure the swelling was causing to the right side of his brain. After a few days of running different CT scans & MRI’s & many tests in between, the neurologists discovered increased swelling which was pushing over to the left side also. His blood pressure kept dropping & he kept running fevers, which they shortly discovered after, he had also developed pneumonia. As positive as we were & tried to remain, the Drs & neurologist informed us that there was an opportunity to do a procedure called Tracheostomy & Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy, which is a breathing tube thru the neck & a feeding tube thru the abdomen. After many questions & much consideration, a few neurologist confirmed he would be a vegetable how he was in the hospital & need long time, if not, lifetime nursing home care. If you knew my dad, you know he wouldn’t have even hesitated to even think of considering the procedure due to the state of health/mind he’d be in even after. After many days of praying for him to get better, going to visit, seeing him & speaking to the nurses we could tell his health & appearance was only getting worse. We prayed over & over & many many times for God to help us in the most difficult decision we’ve ever had to make in our entire lives. To do the procedure & have him suffer the way he was, or take him off life support & let his body relax & be free from pain & struggling. That being said, we couldn’t be selfish & decided to take my dad off the machine & donate his organs that were able to be donated. It gives us a little more comfort just knowing our dad is a hero & is a part of saving another persons life. We wish to give our dad the proper burial & funeral services he deserves, so we are trying to raise funds to do just that!
