My name is Tanya Walker, and I am the founder of Black Women Who, which was established in 2018. We aim to empower black and brown women and children by placing them in spaces where they are seldom seen. With the support of our partners and financial aid from Black Women Who, we have many members who are now engaging in activities such as rowing, sailing summer camp, fencing, rock wall climbing, and more. Our mission is to inspire and educate these women and children to explore spaces they rarely see, and we believe

they should have the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on their generation and future generations.

Thanks to the support of countless donors and the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), we sent two ladies on an 8-day backpacking expedition in the Alaska Tekki Mountains in 2022. This opportunity was a life-changing experience for both of them. In 2023, we sent two more ladies on a 14-day horse-packing expedition in the Wyoming Red Desert, with all expenses paid.

This year, in 2024, we are excited to announce that we will send two more ladies on an 8-day backpacking expedition in Yellowstone National Park, with all expenses covered. This opportunity will give them a chance to experience the natural beauty of the park and create memories that will last a lifetime.
