Sean left Perth to visit me South America. After travelling for 3 days and flying for 36 hours, Sean eventually arrived at my home town, Cali in South America.
Having been apart for 3 months, it was wonderful to see him again, but our joyful reunion was short-lived. Sean arrived on Friday, and by Monday was undergoing surgery.
Sean had been diagnosed with Arterial Thrombosis, and the surgery was needed immediately. A femoral artery bypass was required to save his leg, and his life. During surgery surgeons also conducted a Fasciotomy on his leg in order to stop the muscles from bursting due to the immense pressure brought on by blood clots that had caused the Thrombosis.
Surgeons have told us that the blood clots were probably in Sean’s body for a number of years, and the extensive flying brought about the Thrombosis in his leg. The surgeons have also told us that Sean is extremely lucky that the clots had not travelled to his brain.
With mounting costs, and both of our savings being depleted, we are reaching out to friends and family to help us with the ongoing costs associated with his current medical bills, medication and physiotherapy.
Sean has always been a supporter of Go Fund me campaigns, and never realized he would be in the same position as others, needing your help.
Any amount you are able to give is appreciated and will go straight to Sean's current medical treatments. Please share this with your friends, family, colleagues and social networks.
Sean and I will be posting progress updates as he continues to recover.
We both thank you for your support and generosity.
