My name is Jessica Blakely. I am a single mom of a 9 year old, who has been fighting breast cancer for about 2 years now. I had a mastectomy March of 2024. Then found out the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes so I completed radiation last summer. I have a reproductive cancer so I was taking tamoxifen which I had to stop 6 months ago because the side effects made me too sick to care for myself and my daughter. My bloodwork has been messed up for the last 6 months and recent tests have shown new spots on my spine and ribs. I recently had to apply for FMLA so I wouldn’t lose my job because I’m having to miss so much work due to these issues. I’m still trying to work as much as I can but it is becoming increasingly difficult. I saw a heart Dr today who told me I need to get a heart monitor and ultrasound because I’ve been having episodes where my heart races above 200 beats per minute for an extended period of time. I am also very weak because I am so anemic and I have been getting iron infusions to try and combat that. I am waiting on a PET scan next week to see where we go from here. I’m currently behind on my mortgage and other household bills. I never ask for help. But I’ve learned through this process that it’s brave to ask for help when needed and we need it. Anything you can donate to help my daughter and I get through this unpredictable time would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone for your kindness. Sincerely: Jessica Blakely
UPDATE: I AM CURRENTLY CANCER FREE!!! Waiting to receive my heart monitor results and we will retest my blood once the iron infusions wear off. I do have fibrosis of my lungs from the radiation which makes it difficult to breathe sometimes but I am alive. Thank you for all of your support. My divorce is finally finalized and I’m ready to start a new chapter of my life. Here’s to new beginnings.
