Please help us get Cooper out of Quarantine!

Hi my name is Charlotte and I’m fundraising on behalf of a couple in the U.K. who have just had their dog impounded at Heathrow Animal Control Centre (HARC) in the U.K & sent to a quarantine facility in Epping.

Coopers lovely mum and dad spotted him online and had waited patiently for nearly 4 months for all of his paperwork to be complied, his rabies test and vaccines, then more blood work to confirm the vaccines are present in his system, and then his Animal Health certificate to allow access to the U.K, finally it was all completed and then on 3rd June Cooper flew to what was supposed to be his happy ending.

Coopers mum and her husband have travelled from Manchester to the south of the country to meet him today for the first time in months of corresponding by phone; they booked a pet friendly hotel for the first night with their new rescue, baby and they have already spent nearly £700 for the various tests and compliance needed to enter the U.K for Cooper. Lots of time and money!

While the pet taxi was waiting to collect cooper on behalf on his new mum and dad we were told they couldn’t find his microchip, then we were told that after 5 tries with various scanners to find it, they have declared no chip & the only options now are to put cooper in Quarentine; this needs to be paid for 4 months otherwise Cooper was being impounded or he would be classed as having a disease and would be ‘destroyed’

A short time later a member of staff emerges with video footage of coopers chip somehow inside his carrier! His chip has fallen out and although scanned properly was now now implanted in Cooper and no longer counted towards his entry.

We were given the decision at 10pm at night to go home and call back tomorrow with a Defra approved boarding facility for Cooper and transportation organised or agree to hand him over to HARC. Where he has come from, a paid foster home, because there is no animal welfare for them out there & he will not find a home; he will likely live his entire life in a busy foster without his new family & that’s if we can even get him back to Egypt!

Cooper’s Dad is suffering with a very serious health condition & they do not need the added financial burden on what was supposed to one one of the happiest days of their lives, on top of that they can’t even visit their boy until he’s in a government approved Quarentine. They have waited months and spent a fortune to change this dogs life so now I would like to ask everyone that is able to, please help us get over this final leg of Coopers journey.

They would never ask for this themselves; Tonight they are in a hotel bed after hospital treatment worrying themselves to sleep that they don’t have the funds to cover his quarantine or whatever else we are expected to find the costs for now!

He’s come from being a frightened dog hiding in a yard on a chain to a happy healthy thriving boy and should be now going into what is supposed to be his new life in Manchester…

Please please help us pay this unexpected Quarentine fee for Cooper so he can go home!

More photos of Cooper will be added along with quotes for kennel fees & any other associated costs
