Please help us get a borehole, we have no water.

Will the rains come this year? We have no water in our wells.

The rains have not come this year (we pray they will).
We will run out of staple food when we have used up last year’s crop. That will be soon.

But the immediate problem is Water. Our wells have run dry.
We, the ladies of this district, must walk at least a kilometre to a borehole, where we fill plastic containers then carry them back to our homes. It is exhausting, even though we are used to hard work every day of our lives.
We must drink. We must have water to cook for our families, we must keep ourselves and our children clean.

Tony has told us he will try to help us get a borehole for our community. Please support us. He tells us that change in the climate is happening everywhere. All we know is that this is happening every year now. Some years the rains don’t come at all and we go hungry.

Tony says: ‘I met Alice when visiting rural East Zambia. I successfully funded her daughter to go to a school for deaf children. I am not a do-gooder, I just have a heart and it hurts my heart to see the hardship which my sisters and brothers go through every year here. Through accident of birth some us are born in wealthy cultures, some in poor. Please help me to level this gap even a little.’

‘We take water for granted! Please help me bring clean water to this community.’
