Please Help Us Fund Veterinary Bills for Sage
Tax deductible
For those of you who know or visit the LEAF (from CSA pickup, school gardens, or one of the many town events) you may have noticed our dear babydoll sheep, Sage, has been absent from her pen.
Sadly, Sage became very sick this fall and is suffering from liver failure. We believe she has acorn poisoning - eating too many acorns or oak leaves and branches is toxic to sheep. And, after several worrisome days and nights and multiple IVs, Sage's condition was not improving. The Salmon Brook Veterinary Hospital advised she stay under their care for treatment, and we are happy to report she is slowly improving! (We were told she was standing and even nibbled a pumpkin!)
As you know, medical care for anyone - sheep included - comes with a cost. We are asking our community to please please consider helping us to pay Sage's vet bills.
As a non-profit farm, the LEAF must make difficult decisions all the time on where to spend its resources, but the health of a living being is not one to ignore.
Help us get Sage back to her sisters Rue and Penny, and the LEAF back to doing what it does best - serving our community!
THANK YOU!
