Help Mohammed, who has epilepsy, and his family survive

Hello, my name is Luis, and I am raising funds for my friend in Gaza.

My friend is Yousef Adnan Fawzan Qasim. He is 27 years old, a lawyer, and a master’s student in commercial law. He is Palestinian and lives in Gaza in the midst of genocide. I will attach his ID card below. I created this campaign on behalf of Yousef’s younger brother, who suffers from a medical condition, and for his entire family of 8 — to help continue his brother’s treatment and to evacuate Yousef and his family from Gaza to safety.

Now, here is Yousef to tell you his story:
“My little brother Mohammed is 6 years old and suffers from epilepsy, which causes him severe convulsions and body disturbances. His condition has worsened due to the fear, trauma, and harsh conditions we are living under in Gaza. The main reason is that his medication is not available — and when it is, it costs more than $100 for a single package, which is only enough for ten days. We also can’t provide him with proper food or clean water suitable for his condition.

The main goal is to provide Mohammed with medication, help him complete his treatment, and evacuate him and our family to a place where he can receive the care he needs.

I hope you can help us — please don’t let Mohammed lose his life. He is the joy of our family and brings happiness to our hearts. I will attach his medical report and photos of his treatment.

Diseases have spread across Gaza. All of my family members have been affected by a dangerous bacterial skin disease. My beloved sister Ghina, who always had a beautiful smile, has a skin infection that has spread across her body — her face, stomach, hands, and sensitive areas. This is because of water pollution and the lack of cleaning supplies. We can’t afford hygiene products, and sewage has leaked into the water we drink.

As everyone knows, on October 7, Israel launched a brutal attack on Gaza. My family has been one of its many victims. I was born into a peaceful family, full of love, dreams, and calm. We lived a happy life before the genocide began. Our home and memories were destroyed. Our relatives and friends are gone. Everything that gave us happiness has turned to sadness because of the destruction and genocide we’re living through.

Before the war, I was a lawyer. I had dreams. I wanted to build a house, get married, start a family. Now everything is gone. There is no peace. No work. No future. Just destruction.

My father was injured in this cursed war. He was hit in his foot and can no longer walk or support the family. I’m writing this story from the tent we now live in — me and my family — after our home was destroyed. We’re living in the street, in a tent that doesn’t protect us from the heat or cold.

My only dream now is to get my family out of Gaza — to a safe place. We are 8 people: my father, mother, myself (Yousef, the eldest), my brothers Saeb, Fadi, and Salah, my sister Ghina, and little Mohammed. The situation here has become unbearable. There is no treatment in hospitals. No healthy food. No clean water. Diseases are spreading. There is no safe place left in Gaza. We have been displaced many times and still haven’t found safety.

Please help us escape. Help us get to Egypt, where my grandfather lives. The Egyptian company “Hala” charges about $7,000 per adult and $5,000 per child to coordinate passage out of Gaza. For all 8 of us, that’s $47,000 just to leave. On top of that, we need money for Mohammed’s treatment, transportation, rent, clothes, and basic supplies.

Please don’t let me lose any of my family. I love them all. Please help us reach safety and live in peace. We cook with fire, walk far for water, and live under daily bombings. Every night we sleep in fear. Every morning we wake up to explosions and crying children. Please help us escape.

Donate generously. I love you all.”

I, Luis, am organizing this campaign for Yousef and his family. The funds will be transferred securely via wire transfer. The goal is set high because Yousef is trying to evacuate all of his family members to Egypt. Your donations will help cover evacuation, medical care for Mohammed and Ghina, and basic survival needs like rent, clothing, and transportation.

Here is a cost breakdown of daily life in Gaza for Yousef:

Firstly, In order for Youssef to receive cash he has to pay a 50% commission to receive cash.

  • Flour $50 per kilo
  • Sugar $150 per kilo
  • Lentils $20 per kilo
  • Chickpeas $20 per kilo
  • Water is $10 for 20 liters of drinking water
  • Tomatoes $55 per kilo
  • Cucumbers $30 per kilo
  •  Eggplant $35 per kilo
  • Potatoes $41 per kilo
  • Peppers $20 per ounce
  • Yousef's little brother Mohammed's medication now costs $150 every 10 days
Also, due to the occupation, Yousef must evacuate to
southern Gaza as Yousef faces death if he is not able to evacuate.

In order to safely evacuate, Yousef must pay someone to help him transport him, his family, and his family's necessary belongings such as: clothes, tools, and supplies.

Yousef estimates this evacuation cost to be $2,000 - $4,000.

Then, once arrived in southern Gaza, his family will need to rent a plot of land and buy a new tent.

The Egyptian Hala Company offers passage for Palestinians fleeing Gaza, but the costs are extremely high. We cannot do this without your help.
