With great sadness we had to put Loki down after we arrived at the emergency vet in Arizona. His condition worsened during our travel and he had too many complications. Our hearts are broken and it was the toughest decision we’ve made but we didn’t want our big boy to suffer anymore. We are still fundraising to help with the medical bills we accumulated trying to save him.

Hi everyone, my husband and I are trying to raise money for our dog Loki. He is a 5 year old all black German shephard. He was our fist furr baby when we got our first home together and we love him dearly.

Less than a year ago we started to notice blood in his urine. We tried antibiotics which didn’t work so the next recommendation was to get him neutered. It seemed like that helped but recently we started to see blood again so I called the dr to get him seen. Before his appointment came we ended up having to take him to an emergency vet because he wasn’t able to urinate even though he tried every 5 minutes. The vet determined he had some kind of obstruction preventing him from releasing his urine. Multiple attempts were made to insert a catheter but they were unsuccessful. It’s unknown what exactly is causing the blockage but he needs emergency surgery to remove it or else it can cause damage to his organs and heart. My husband and I are traveling with our 4 month old daughter 7 hours out of state to get him the immediate care he needs that couldn’t be provided in our home state because of the lack of surgeons and time.

Loki is not just a pet, he has been a part of our family for 5 years. He’s been there for all the good and hard times. He helped comfort us when we lost our two month old son who he loved so much. Loki is mischievous (just like his name, God of mischief), smart, loves to play ball, a cuddler, a protector, and so much more. The thought of loosing another one of our babies breaks our heart.
