On June 6, 2017 our father, Santo Silva's heart suddenly stopped, he was resuscitated by paramedics but since he lost oxygen to the brain he has been in a coma since then. Although we are hoping & praying for a miracle we must also be prepare for the worse. He is currently on life support, the real test will be when the support is removed. He suffered brain damage but still does have very little brain activity. However, if his health takes a turn for the worse after he is removed from the life support, then they'll have been nothing more doctors could do and our dad will be laid to rest. Our dad has lived in Florida for the past 12 years where he enjoyed the latter days of his life to the fullest. Before then he was a proud resident of Jersey City. Known to many and loved by all for his comical, upbeat, loving & caring personality. We'd like to present the opportunity for everyone to pay their last respects to him and wish him their farewells at home. In order to do so we are asking for the help of our family and friends. As with any family this was sudden and without warning so my siblings and I are not financially able to do this alone. Our dad was living off of fixed income and his insurance will not begin to scratch the surface to cover all the expenses. We'd like to transport his remains back to Jersey City and see him off the way we know he would have wanted, with the warmth and love of all those who knew & cherished him, family & friends. Our mom cannot travel either due to her health being delicate and we want her to be a part of this moment along with their 7 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild. Any amount is appreciated and will get us closer to our goal. We thank you in advance and may God multiply your donations greatly. Our most warmest & deepest regards..
