Please help us acquire Steadfast Dance Center

Hello Friends, Family, and Community,

My name is CJ Williams. I am a Chicago-born and raised educator, professional breakdancer/bboy, and artist, who has been performing, competing, and teaching for two decades. My great friend and crewmate Sergio Rodriguez and I have been presented with an opportunity that would not only help professionalize us as first-time black and brown business owners but also keep a current up-and-running dance studio open on Chicago's southside.

We have been presented with the chance to purchase full ownership of Steadfast Dance Center, LLC (SDC).

SDC is a dance studio located at, 1860 S. Blue Island Ave. 3rd floor-suite 303 Chicago Illinois, 60608 in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. SDC offers a myriad of dance classes for youth and adults. SDC also partners with other organizations and clients for workshops and studio rentals.

SDC was established in 2016 by Sarah A. Lozano and full ownership will be taken over by CJ Williams and Sergio Rodriguez on June 1st, 2023.

Our plan is to acquire Steadfast Dance Center, LLC. To do this, we need a total of $15,000. This will cover the 25% down payment ($10,000) of $40,000 for the full purchase of the business (LLC), the security deposit, and two months rent for the commercial studio space that we will be leasing in Pilsen to run our classes and business.

We will be offering Breakdance classes, Hip-Hop Choreography, Pre-Ballet, Pre-Tap, You & Me dance classes, Private Lessons, Special Event Choreography, Adult Classes, Collaborations with Partners, Studio Rental, Monthly Events, and More! We want to utilize this amazing space to its full potential and expand the programming we can offer to our city in a great location right between the north and far south side.

Sergio and I have both worked in the Pilsen community for many years teaching youth breaking and fitness classes. We feel SDC’s location is a perfect middle ground to connect people from all areas of Chicago. We aim to amplify the dance community while providing our youth with a positive, non-judgmental space where they can express themselves through movement and performance art.

We are asking for monetary contributions to achieve this goal amount. All money raised will go directly to the expenses listed above. Any amount will help and be greatly appreciated but we have some incentives for those of you that can help big!

In all honesty, this opportunity came very suddenly so we are not fully prepared to cover all of these initial expenses. We are doing everything we can to achieve our goal amount but we need your help. Please consider donating to assist us in this new and life-changing venture.
